Frequently Asked Questions — Chemical Peels

Q: Who is a good candidate for a chemical peel?

A: Chemical peels work well for most skin types and tones. They are especially effective for anyone

dealing with dull or uneven texture, sun damage, acne marks, hyperpigmentation, or early fine lines.

During your appointment, Carla will review your skin and confirm which peel level is the right fit.

Q: How many peels do I need to see results?

A: Many clients see noticeable improvement after a single peel. For more significant concerns like

deeper pigmentation or acne scarring, a series of 3–6 peels spaced 4–6 weeks apart is typically

recommended.

Q: Does a chemical peel hurt?

A: Most clients describe a mild tingling or warming sensation during the treatment. The Illuminize (Level

1) is extremely comfortable. Deeper peels like the Rejuvenize may produce a stronger sensation, but

the appointment is short — typically 30 minutes — and Carla monitors your comfort throughout.

Q: What is the downtime?

A: It depends on the peel level. The Illuminize peel has minimal to no visible peeling. The Vitalize and

Rejuvenize peels typically cause 3–5 days of light-to-moderate flaking. You should avoid sun exposure

and active skincare products during this window.

Q: Do I need to do anything to prepare?

A: Yes — a $50 deposit is required to book. In the days leading up to your appointment, avoid retinoids

(tretinoin, retinol), AHAs, exfoliants, and prolonged sun exposure. Carla will provide full pre-care

instructions at booking.

Q: Can I combine a peel with other treatments?

A: Chemical peels pair well with our SkinPen Microneedling on a treatment plan schedule, but not on

the same day. The Post-Procedure TLC Facial (booked 12–14 days after your peel) is a great

complement that supports healing and extends your results.

Chemical Peel appointments take about 30 minutes. You may experience some light flaking or peeling in the days following, depending on the depth of your peel. I’ll guide you through what to expect before, during, and after, and I’ll make sure you are comfortable and your skin is protected every step of the way.
